Francis del Val has over 3 decades’ experience as a general manager, marketer and strategist in FMCG, pharmaceuticals and banking . The past twelve years was spent living in London, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and in between, running businesses in Asia, Brazil, Russia, Mexico, the Middle East , China and Asia Pacific. Francis is a highly energetic, passionate business and marketing strategist. He has a track record of turning around organizations and creating strategies that result in distinctive, sustainable, scalable businesses.
Francis is passionate about developing talent. Throughout his career, he has cultivated young leaders and developed them through stretch assignments in multiple roles and geographies, mentoring and coaching them throughout their journey. Through Francis support, many high potential Asian executives have risen to senior level roles. Francis is a proponent of diversity and always advocates supporting female talent in their quest to achieve senior leadership positions.
Earlier in his career, Francis founded the first integrated marketing agency (Fasttrack IMC) in the Philippines before selling it to one of the top advertising agencies in Manila, after successfully running and growing it for three years. He was also a college professor for ten years teaching Brand management, marketing and operations at the Ateneo de Manila university.
Prior to GSK, Francis worked in Unilever, Warner Lambert and Bank of the Philippine Islands in various senior leadership roles.
Francis is a Management Engineering graduate, cum laude of the Ateneo . He is married to Marisa and has three lovely children: Pauline, Paolo and Isabel, whom he makes it a point to refer to as his best friends.
